Challenge
Our topic needed to be genuinely interesting to children (and ideally adults too) to demonstrate that learning can be captivating and fun, and that science is fascinating. Our initial script included quite a bit more information, and we went through several edits in an effort to be more concise but retain core content.
Solution
Tardigrades are excellent subject matter because they are so unusual and resilient. We used somewhat silly yet accurate visuals and humor to make our video engaging and to prompt general curiosity.
